⚠️ Important Update: Meta Spark AR Studio Shutdown
Meta announced the shutdown of Spark AR Studio, effective January 14, 2025.
As of this date, third-party AR effects created by independent creators like myself will no longer be available on Facebook and Instagram. Only first-party AR effects created by Meta will remain active.
What This Means
- Platform Closure: Spark AR Studio officially shut down on January 14, 2025
- Effects Removed: All custom AR filters and effects are no longer accessible
- Creator Impact: Hundreds of thousands of creators worldwide were affected by this decision
- Meta’s Focus: Meta is shifting resources to “next generation experiences across new form factors like glasses”
My Spark AR Journey (2017-2025)
From 2017 to 2025, I had the privilege of creating augmented reality experiences using Spark AR Studio. This platform allowed me to reach thousands of people across Facebook and Instagram with interactive AR effects and filters.
